This might be London’s best marinated raw crab!! Ma Eum in Pimlico serves up authentic Korean dishes. We started off with the makgeolli alcoholic beverage served in a teapot. The beef tataki was tender and delicious. Trying the soy marinated raw crab for the first time was an amazing experience—I absolutely loved it and highly recommend it. The Korean fried chicken in a sweet and spicy sauce was a definite winner, as always. We paired our dishes with flavourful kimchi fried rice and an incredible beef bulgogi bibimbap. Overall, Ma Eum is one of the best Korean restaurants I’ve visited in London!
I discovered MAEUM on Instagram several months ago and have been following along with their posts and stories ever since, hoping to get a chance to visit one day. I finally was able to visit and was not disappointed! The shop is super cute. The decorations were beautiful and the atmosphere is cozy and relaxing. I had a blueberry bingsu, which was the most BEAUTIFUL dessert I’ve ever had! It was also delicious The owners were truly some of the nicest people I’ve met at a business in Paris! They were so kind, from offering me extra condensed milk for my bingsu to taking time to ask questions about me. I also got to practice a bit of my (very, very limited) Korean. It seems like they truly see their customers as human beings, and not just as a means of income, and you can feel the difference. I will definitely be coming back here one day to have another 빙수 !
This is a cute Korean cafe owned by the sweetest people in Paris. I’ve gone frequently for the BTS events that they organize and you can tell how much effort that they put into these events. I always have a really fun time and feel very welcome. If you ever have the opportunity to go for one of the BTS events, you should definitely go. Make sure to reserve your spots fast on their website though, because they sell quick! Even if you are not a fan of BTS, this cafe is not to be missed. The owners are so sweet and kind. You can really tell that they enjoy what they’re doing and they put in so much hard work and effort to create such a genuine and great experience every time that you go there. The food and drinks are as delicious as they are beautiful and the cafe is decorated with care and style. I started learning Korean by myself 4 years ago, but I’ve never had the confidence or opportunity to speak it with other people until I came here. The owners really make going to this cafe so special. If you are learning Korean you can practice with them and feel encouraged to continue studying. I’ve always felt so welcome here as the owners remember you every time you come back. You can really tell how much they care about the people that come to their cafe. This cafe is truly a hidden gem and I would recommend visiting if you have the chance.
Beautiful café with lots of love for details. Lovely owners who were very welcoming. And the food and drinks are delicious, especially the Bingsu Will definitely come back when i'm visiting Paris again.
My favorite korean cafe in Paris! Love everything about this place. :) The ambience, the desserts and drinks, the decoration, and also they’re always so nice and welcoming. Must try: their bingsu & hodugwaja! Maeum always comes with great concept and idea, check out their Instagram to get the updates of their current events, etc. Thank you Maeum!
Cannot recommend this café enough! The decor and ambiance set up such a comfortable and comforting mood which was perfect to unwind and take a break from the city pace. Anyone can instantly notice the attention to detail from the owners to give customers the best experience. They also sell beautiful clothes, items and accessories, wonderfully curated! I purchased the prettiest glass which I use every single day now. Also, if you're indecisive on the menu like me, trust the owners' recommendations! I was recommended the Korean plum tea (매실차) and I loved it! I got to taste the hodu-gwaja (호두과자) pastries as well, so delicious! Finally, the owners are truly so kind and lovely, they made me feel so welcomed and even took time to chat with me, which really shows how much they value their customers. Thank you so much! What more can I say? I truly had the best healing time and if I lived in Paris I'd definitely be a regular. Can't wait to go back!
A very enjoyable shop visit~ First of all, maeum must be a must-visit for every kpop fans! It's a bit of a shame that they don't take reservations, but it was acceptable and I only had to wait for about 20 minutes. It's not a big shop, it's even a bit small hahahahahaha. But the décor is pretty~ pink and pink! The price of the menu is acceptable, a little expensive, and there's not a lot to choose from, which is a pity. If you order a smoothie and a drink, it will cost over 10 euros per person. The attitude is really super nice! We ordered a smoothie and ate it very slowly, then she came to care if it was not to our liking, nor if it was not tasty or something. But it was actually a bit cold because it was too cold hahahahaha, so she brought us a cup of hot water!!! Let us warm up! omg she was sososo sweeeeet. The shop manager is purely Korean~ Before leaving, he will chat with you, giving you stickers and candies as little gift, and teach you a few words of Korean, which is really cute. He also gave us little BLACKPINK stickers because he knew we were here to travel. All in all, it was a really good experience. If you like kpop and have enough time, you should definitely come there!
Loved the experience. This is not only a place to drink or eat sweets but to share a moment in a very cute and well thought environnement. Specials attention as, offered reusable straw, non insistent but caring checking from the staff that everything is going well, goodies and discussion with the owner about Korean culture, are what makes the experience unique. The music is amazing, chill, never too loud. The staff cares about their new drinks and sweet to know how to do better and to get immediate customer reviews. Everything is very thougtful.
